Superb and very rare engraving from:

24 x 15.5 cm ; 9.4 x 6.1 inches

Fine copper engraving. Later hand colour.

The war ships is described in the engraved text, including battle orders and formation.

Ozanne, engraver, naval engineer and official naval artist, was appointed in 1769 to teach ship construction and naval tactics to the royal princes. This elegant and concise work, combining all of his talents, grew out of his teaching duties.
