On 16th November 1878, the 'Great Flood' struck Norwich, causing death, destruction and misery.
The people of Norwich had been assured that improvements to the drainage system and engineering works earlier in the 19th century would save the city from flooding. They didn’t!
This fascinating photographic record of the flood is almost unknown complete.
Binding rubbed and with wear to edges. Somewhat dusty. Fingering to card.
